Does this Portion of Scripture Contain any Examples I Can Follow?
I have bolded and highlighted a few verses above.
The Samaritan did not IGNORE the man in need. He had compassion on him. He provided first aid for the man.
He picked the man up and went out of his way to provide lodging for him. He stayed with the wounded man overnight.
The next day, gave the innkeeper more money and told him to spend whatever he needed to on the man and promised to pick up the tab when he returned.
Have You Heard of Good Samaritan Laws?
All 50 US states have them. The gist of a good samaritan law is if someone injures a person in need while trying to help them, they will be protected from liability.
When we see someone in need, if we are following this example of what Jesus called "loving your neighbor", we will not ignore them but will try to help them instead, as much as we can using our own resources according to our own ability.
The Final Word
Oh, and we know this is an example to follow because Jesus also said, "Go and do thou likewise."
