September 25 Daily Discovery - Read Micah Chapter 5

[1] Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.
[2] But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
[3] Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.
[4] And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.
[5] And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
[6] And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.
[7] And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.
[8] And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.
[9] Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.
[10] And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots:
[11] And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strong holds:
[12] And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:
[13] Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands.
[14] And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities.
[15] And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.
Oh, Little Town of Bethlehem!
1 O little town of Bethlehem,
how still we see thee lie!
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
the silent stars go by.
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
the everlasting light;
the hopes and fears of all the years
are met in thee tonight.
2 For Christ is born of Mary;
and, gathered all above,
while mortals sleep, the angels keep
their watch of wond'ring love.
O morning stars, together
proclaim the holy birth,
and praises sing to God the King,
and peace to men on earth.
3 How silently, how silently,
the wondrous gift is giv'n!
So God imparts to human hearts
the blessings of His heav'n.
No ear may hear His coming,
but in this world of sin,
where meek souls will receive Him still,
the dear Christ enters in.
4 O holy Child of Bethlehem,
descend to us, we pray;
cast out our sin and enter in;
be born in us today.
We hear the Christmas angels,
the great glad tidings tell;
O come to us, abide with us,
our Lord Emmanuel!
The Ruler in Israel
The wise men from the east came into the land of israel because they saw the star. They were aware of the prophecies and certainly had been influenced by the prophet Daniel being in the kingdom. They knew he was coming and they were looking for his sign. They came not only to honor him, they came to worship him. We are supposed to give honor to those to whom honor is due but worship is for God only. They knew this. This Child that they knelt to worship was from everlasting!
They made it to Israel but they got the details of Bethlehem from King Herod. Herod was not going to take a chance on the Messiah taking his throne so he was going to kill Him before he had a chance. He was a heartless, hateful butcher, and of course God would not allow his devilish and feeble plan to succeed.
They were guided to the specific place where the little child was... At this point he was no longer a baby in a manger. They were guided by star. Take a few moments to consider what the bible says about stars in comparison and contrast to what modern science tells us that they are. According to the bible they are not burning balls of gas millions of light years away they are close and when god so chooses he can bring them to the earth. Think about that and study your bible -- and then choose if you're going to believe God or science falsely so called.
He was from Everlasting
Jesus was threatened of stoning several times because the jews understood that he claimed to be god. Claiming to be god is a big problem,... Unless you are God.
Jesus Christ was 100% God and 100% human at the same time!
The Remnant of Jacob Among the Gentiles
It was only a small minority of the jewish population on the earth that was actually living in the land of judah during the time of christ. The messiah came in the fullness of time at the perfect time. The entire world was very much connected and kingdoms had contact with remote kingdoms.
Along with the growth of the Roman Empire went the expansion of religious Judaism as well. Probably everywhere the Roman Empire touched there was a Jewish synagogue established. The unfaithful Hebrew people was the great harlot of Revelation that was riding the back of the beast which was Rome.
Before the time of the end of the apostolic era, the gospel of Jesus Christ had already covered the entire earth. Bible history is completely accurate. Human history is muchly a fabrication. Trust the Bible.
The Jewish Messiah brought the kingdom of God to earth and He established His kingdom and He rules His kingdom which will never end. He is still the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. As the Father conferred the kingdom to His Son, His Son conferred the kingdom to us. We have not done a very good job managing His kingdom!
Let us stop being negligent in our God-given roles!
