October 14 Daily Discovery - Read Genesis Chapter 6

[1] And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
[2] That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
[3] And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
[4] There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
[5] And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
[6] And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
[7] And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
[8] But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
[9] These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
[10] And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
[11] The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
[12] And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
[13] And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
[14] Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
[15] And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
[16] A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
[17] And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
[18] But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.
[19] And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.
[20] Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.
[21] And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.
[22] Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
Angel-human Hybrids?
This act magnified and accelerated the corruption of the race of humanity. The core of modern evangelical Christianity will interpret this passage as referring to the children of Seth (godly line) marrying with ungodly women, and they leave it there. If you accept the phrase for "sons of God" as revering to a class of angels that God had made and called His sons, which is consistent with a balance of the Scriptures, then we have a different interpretation.
Every angel was an individual creative act of God, unlike humanity of which God created one man and from him came all others (including the female - Eve) which is a race that grows through sexual union, or procreation.
Man was made a little lower than the angels. A little lower should be contrast with a phrase that could be used a lot lower. Anytime an angel appeared to man on earth he appeared as a man. He never appeared as a woman. There are no female angels.
This interpretation is supported by direct references that are in the New testament. The purpose here is not to elaborate on this issue only to authenticate that this is indeed what did happen.

God Destroyed the Earth
Everything that God made was good and when He had completed His creative acts for things that are upon the earth, He said it was all very good. He created everything to reproduce after its own kind. This could happen because God made everything that was intended to reproduce both male and female. Cows reproduce cows, snakes reproduce snakes, humans reproduce humans. There were no female angels therefore angels could not reproduce angels. Some angels left their estate in heaven because they wanted to procreate. They were made closely enough to earthly creatures to be able to procreate with them.
He did not make female angels so two angels could marry have intercourse and the result would be another angel. This was limited to creatures upon earth. The sons of God were spirit beings and like man they had free will. Many of them, and we do not know how many, crossed the boundary between the heavens and the earth and by their intermingling with earth creatures things were procreated that God did not ordain.
The sons of God were present when God created the earth and the things that are therein and they shouted for joy while they observed it. This is why we are told in the creation account that God said,"Let us make man in our image". He was referring to his Himself and His divine family that were present with Him. (This is referred to as the divine council.)
The corruption of ALLL flesh.
We are told in the New Testament that there are different types of flesh that are upon the earth. These wicked angels invaded all of earthly creation. This resulted in bizarre hybrids with lots of different creatures.
There was more than one reason that God destroyed the earth with the flood. It wasn't simply because of man's sin, it was also largely due to the sin of the sons of God.
The first book of Enoch fills in a lot of details that are not recorded in Genesis or elsewhere in the canon that is in most of our hands. It was widely read before and during the time of jesus, is directly quoted by Jude and it is referenced frequently and alluded to in other passages in the New Testament.
This is the possible origin of mythological creatures and false gods.
The false gods worshiped by the egyptians as well as the greeks were frequently depicted as being part human and part animal as well as part divine and part human. They're actually maybe some truth to what is in regarded today is entirely a myth.
God Restarted the Earth
There was one man left on the earth whose genetics had not been corrupted. God spared him and his sons and their wives to restart the earth from ground zero. Of course his name was Noah.
This is why only Noah in his family were spared. Everything else that moved upon the earth and that breathed air would drown.
God Promised to Never do it That Way Again
We know that this trespass of the sons of God into humanity happened before Noah but it also happened afterward. God knows all things so He knew this would happen, but He promised He would not destroy the entire earth again with a flood. He would have another way of dealing with it. He would use his own people (Israel's conquest of canaan and their instruction to entirely wipe out those populations) to destroy the races of the giants. There were some that remained even after that (think of Goliath of Gath and Og of Bashan).
We know that there would be a future destruction by fire that would visit the whole earth but God would not do it with water again. Water is a popular solvent and it is the universal cleanser but fire purifies even more thoroughly than water.
At the return of jesus in judgment the elements would melt with a fervent heat, thus the earth being purged again before the physical promised kingdom on earth would begin. Physical evidence of a worldwide flood as well as physical evidence of melted mountains and brick / rock structures occur all across the earth. There are many things that are in our past that many Christians are still thinking is in the future during this season of great deception.
